When I looked at the last day I wrote a blog entry - the day of my 52nd birthday - I was relieved that it had not been quite so long as it seemed although it was still almost a month. The lyric I quote above from an old Humble Pie song popped into my head Here is one of my 'dissertation monsters' - and this must be the one of being unable to focus on anything else, because that is what happened during the last couple of weeks. On the plus side - it was really only terribly intense for about 4 days and I had only one day of inability to work after (yesterday) - this is quite minimal based on what I have heard from other people.
The process is still not 'over' - there is a public defense to be gotten through and certainly there will be recommendations from the committee regarding the document - because some of them would not feel as if they were doing their jobs otherwise - but overall I am pleased with 2 of the 3 articles and the biggest problem with the third was that I finished it on Monday and it went to the committee on Tuesday night without the usual 'rest' time I like to have. In other news, I am working my way, with tremendous effort, through a recursive frame analysis project. Hoo ha!
